“…Myunghyun Kim opened the concert with the Scherzo no. 2 in B flat minor, Op. 31 by Chopin, with virtuosity which excited the audience.
The concert continued with the Sonata 2 op. 35 in B flat minor, played masterfully by the very talented pianist. In this sonata, the Korean artist was able to transport the audience into a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, from dreamlike serenity of the first half, to the sadness of the funeral march and the final unsettling.
In the second part, Myunghyun Kim played magical pieces with absolute difficulty as “Une barque sur l’ocean” and “Alborada del gracioso”. They are both selected from the work of Ravels “Miroirs”. The first piece, dedicated to the painter Paul Sordes, presents the behavior of a boat transported by ocean waves. And the second piece, which dedicated to the composer and music critic Michel Dimitri Calvocoressi, blends into its complicated melodies and typical songs of the Iberian Peninsula.
The young musician ended the concert with “Après une lecture du Dante: Fantasia quasi Sonata” by Liszt. The piece is divided into two parts: The first part, in D minor, is the moaning souls of hell, the second, in sharp contrast to the first, in F-sharp, is the joy of the blessed souls.
At the end of recital, the audience was giving frenzy applause and called repeatedly for an encore.”

Continua ad emozionare e a riscuotere importanti consensi il Festival Pianistico Città di Corato. Protagonista assoluto della quarta serata il venticinquenne Myunghyun Kim, vincitore assoluto tra tutte le categorie della sezione Pianoforte al Concorso internazionale di Musica Euterpe 2015. Il giovane artista asiatico ha sfoggiato un repertorio eccezionale e tecnicamente complesso, passando con disinvoltura da Chopin a Liszt, toccando alcune delle pagine più belle di Ravel.
Presentato dal direttore artistico del Festival, il M° Filippo Balducci, Myunghyun Kim ha aperto il concerto con lo Scherzo n. 2 in si bemolle minore op. 31 di Chopin, con virtuosismi che hanno coinvolto ed entusiasmato gli spettatori.
Il concerto è proseguito con la Sonata n.2 op. 35 in si bemolle minore, interpretato in maniera magistrale dal talentuosissimo pianista. In questa sonata, l’artista coreano è riuscito a trasportare il pubblico in un vortice di emozioni contrastanti, dalla serenità onirica del primo tempo, fino alla tristezza della Marcia Funebre e allo spiazzante finale.
Nella seconda parte, Myunghyun Kim si è destreggiato tra pezzi di assoluta difficoltà come “Une barque sur l’ocean” e “Alborada del gracioso” , entrambi tratti dall’opera “Miroirs” di s Ravel. La prima, dedicata al pittore Paul Sordes, imita l’andamento di una barca trasportata dalle onde dell’oceano, la seconda, dedicata al compositore critico musicale Michel Dimitri Calvocoressi, mescola nelle sue complicate melodie, brani tipici della penisola iberica.
Il giovane musicista ha chiuso il concerto con “Après une lecture du Dante: Fantasia quasi Sonata” di Liszt. Il pezzo si divide in due parti: La prima parte, in Re minore, rappresenta i lamenti delle anime dell’inferno, la seconda, in netta antitesi con la prima, in Fa diesis, rappresenta la gioia delle anime beate.
Alla fine del concerto applausi a scena aperta e pubblico in delirio che a più riprese ha chiesto il bis, senza però essere accontentato.
Oggi la rassegna proseguirà con “In duo col violino”, a cura del pianista Fabrizio Datteri e del violinista Michelangelo Lentini.

Beide Werke stammen aus Ravels “Miroirs”: Das erste Werk, das dem Maler Paul Sordes gewidmet ist, stellt das Verhalten eines von Meereswellen transportierten Bootes dar. Das zweite Werk ist dem Komponisten und Musikkritiker Michel Dimitri Calvocoressi gewidmet und fügt sich in seine komplizierten Melodien und typischen Lieder der Iberischen Halbinsel ein.
Der junge Musiker beendete das Konzert mit “Après une lecture du Dante: Fantasia quasi Sonata” von Liszt. Das Stück ist in zwei Teile geteilt: Der erste Teil in d-Moll ist die stöhnende Hölle der Hölle, der zweite, in scharfem Gegensatz zu dem ersten, in F-sharp, ist die Freude der gesegneten Seelen.
Am Ende des Konzerts gab das Publikum rasenden Applaus und rief wiederholt zu einer Zugabe auf.”
